'The Oslo Accords' shortlisted for the Palestine Book Awards 2017

The Oslo Accords: A Critical Assessment, co-edited by Petter Bauck and Mohammed Omer, published by AUC Press (paperback, 2017), has just been shortlisted for the Palestine Book Awards 2017.

Started in 2012, the Awards honor every year the best new books in English about any aspect of Palestine with the hope to encourage authors and publishers to produce more books on the whole Palestinian narrative.

In The Oslo Accords, Bauck, a Norwegian senior conflict advisor, and Omer, a Palestinian journalist, look back on this controversial landmark in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. More than twenty years have passed since Israel and the Palestine Liberation Organization concluded what is also known as the Declaration of Principles on Interim Self-Government Arrangements for Palestine.

The Oslo Accords comprises an interesting variety of essays written by renowned scholars and practitioners who scrutinize the 1993 accord from a wide range of perspectives. The volume also includes a moving foreword by Desmond Tutu, South Africa's former Anglican archbishop and a Nobel Peace Prize laureate.
