To do so, click on the "Add to Cart" button which appears on individual book pages, book search results pages, and browse by subject pages. All the books that you have selected by adding them to the cart will be placed in your individual shopping cart.

When you have finished shopping and are ready to submit your order for processing, click on the “Check” button to fill in your credit card and address information on our secure online ordering system.

How do I pay?

To order online you will need a credit card.

If you do not have a credit card, it is also possible to order by phone, fax or mail, and pay by personal check. Please make your check payable to The American University in Cairo Press.

Is it safe to pay online?

When you place an order online with AUC Press, your personal details are completely safe. We use the industry standard secure server software, which protects your information as it is transmitted over the Internet. Your order is encrypted so that no one else can read it, and is not decoded until it reaches our secure server. When it reaches us, only authorized personnel see it. We do not store your credit card details online, so other internet users cannot access your details.

How will my book(s) be delivered?

Your order will be dispatched from one of our distribution centers, depending on your geographical location. Click here for shipping charges information. 

Will my private details stay private?

We are bound to our Privacy Policy which means that we do not sell or rent your personal details to anyone. We do not store your credit card details online, so other internet users cannot access your details.

What if I have trouble with my online book order?

How do I search the AUC Press Web site for a book or author?

Quick Search

If you know the book title or the author, type this in the “Search” box and hit “Return” on your keyboard. If the following message “Your search did not result in any matches” appears, try again using the Advanced Search option.

Advanced Search

Search by Title: Enter the full title and click on “Search.” Entering key words from the title will produce a longer list within which the title should appear.

Search by Author: Enter the author’s full name, or last name, into the “Author” box and click on “Search.” All titles written or edited by that author will appear in publication date order.

Search by Category: Choose one of the categories from the drop-down menu and click “Search.”

Search by Format: Choose among the formats (CD-Rom, Hardbound, Maps, Paperback, etc.) proposed in the drop-down menu and click on “Search.”

Show Book Cover: Select “Yes” or “No” to show book cover.

I have an idea for a book. How can I submit it?

The AUC Press is happy to consider proposals or partial manuscripts, and to encourage and guide writers if a proposal seems good.

Because of mailing costs, the AUC Press cannot send printed materials such as books and manuscripts back to every person who has sent us a submission. Please address editorial queries to:

What is the AUC Downtown Cultural Center?

The AUC Downtown Cultural Center, located in the historic neo-Mamluk Sheikh Rihan building in downtown Cairo, was established in 2009 to offer the Cairo community a central and diversified cultural hub. It currently houses the AUC Press Tahrir Square Bookstore and the Margo Veillon Gallery of Modern Egyptian Art, in addition to AUC’s Ewart Memorial Hall and Oriental Hall.
